How do I maintain a Quooker?

A Quooker isn't difficult to maintain. In most cases, you only need to replace the HiTAC®-filter once every five years. Here you can read more about maintaining a Quooker appliance.

Maintenance

With the desalinated fresh water suitable for human consumption we have here in UAE, the internal HiTAC® water filter will usually require changing every 5 years. The filter can be ordered from our service department and comes with step-by-step instructions to allow you to change it yourself. If you prefer, we can also arrange for one of our engineers to change the filter for you.

Cleaning the tap

It is best to clean the tap by spraying a little glass cleaner on a damp cloth (not directly on the tap) and wiping off the tap. Drying the tap after use prevents limescale stains.

We strongly advise against the use of other cleaning agents (e.g. anti-scale agents, abrasives and vinegar) and scouring pads. These can affect the coating of parts and the grease in the tap, which ensures that all parts move smoothly.

Descaling the tap aerator

We recommend that you descale the aerator at the tip of the spout regularly, depending on the hardness of water in your area. To descale the aerator, unscrew the tap nozzle, remove the aerator and soak it in a vinegar-water solution for a while. This prevents blockage and irregular spraying from the tap.

Servicing

The HITAC filter should be changed once every five years. This can be done yourself and filters are available directly from Quooker. However, if you prefer you can arrange a service by one of our experienced engineers.
